I have no idea why the sd adapter is saying access denied? I am using a converter/adapter to fit the slot in my laptop. Then enter the drive letter (in my case it was i:) and it will show all processes with your SD drive open. I have downloaded the image file, unzipped it ready to write. Ask! In the end I moved my work from my desktop to laptop which is also running Win7 Home Premium 64 bit. Actually I tried it with a 2GB unbranded and found the same problem.
There are no programs using the micro SD card and no windows open which I believe are using the img file. When booting, the raspberry pi let you choose the operating system you wish to install. If all went well, your Pi should boot up (start) into your new operating system. It should have a location C:\raspPisd Open Win32diskimager.
