the latest is Vista SP2 you may get it from Windows Update but you need to have SP1 installed firstyou may install ATI's Windows 7 driver on Vista but only with Click Start All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then System Restore. Vista x64 will freeze all the time now. I Fixed my problem. For solutions (which will probably only be applicable to certain motherboards) try your manufacturers web sites. If Windows becomes active again, the problem is related to software. Flashing nowadays is moderately safe however you have been warned and I take no responsibility for underqualified individuals not knowing how to flash correctly (or qualitified people for that matter)
I went to Windows Update and found 18 system and software updates needed, some critical. 16 were subsequently selected including one for the video driver.After the updates were downloaded/installed the laptop How To Stop Windows Vista From Freezing This should solve many peoples problems I think.
